British Summer Fruit Pudding (Fruit & White Bread?)

So on the continued saga of the 1000 Things, I made a British Summer Fruit Pudding.  The ingredients aren’t many but they are really strange from my perspective.  A pan is buttered, lined with white bread and slightly cooked berries are dumped into the pan.  The entire thing is weighted and after 12 hours is unveiled. The juice soaks through the bread and creates a crust on the fruit.  You top it with whipped cream and voila, you have a British Summer Fruit Pudding.  As strange as it really sounds-this really works in the weirdest possible way.  Will I make it again? Odds are not. Would I eat it if offered it?  That is a big, fat yes.
