So CNN has their 30 dumplings from around the world to eat-I have managed to fine many and this past week I added another to my list. My friend Sandy and I took a pottery making class and then came back to my house to eat chili verde and Modak. So what is a Modak? It is a sweet, steamed dumpling that tastes like it has a coconut filling. They are served during the festival of Ganesh in August. I bought them frozen and have been heating them up in my little bamboo steamer I bought in Taiwan in 1983. Yum.
