Lumi with Elena

I will say one good things to come out of COVID are all of the outside spaces. So we braved the COVID and went downtown to have dinner at Lumi’s rooftop restaurant.   This is a new, stunningly beautiful space of a Michelin-stared Chef Akira Back.  Ivan, Elena and I had an amazing time watching the sun go down, sipping on BEAUTIFUL cocktails and eating really amazing shared plates.  We ordered many, many things with some of the most memorable including:  a seabass tiradito which had puffed quinoa and the most amazing sauce, rockshrimp tempura, a lumi sushi roll that was wrapped in daikon radish and a stunning sashimi plate with fish items I had never had before.  For dessert we had a soursop sorbet with thai basil (soursop IS a 1000 foods item) and a macaroon ice cream sandwich that had five spice mandarin powder and miso caramel.  This one is a keeper.
