Cavaillon Melon

This is a french melon and mighty hard to get in the US. i have looked and looked and finally learned that they are grown in France but not often found in the US. This week I had two delivered to the house. I took one to work and one to the Clopines. Are these a good melon? Absolutely. They are buttery and have a little different aftertaste than a traditional cantaloupe. if you get a chance, have a Cavillon melon. One way to eat them-mentioned in the 1000 Things to Eat Before you Die-is to serve with them wild strawberries or raspberries. I liked them just they way they were.
