Schenkels (Ladies’ Thighs Cookies)

When I lived in Germany I learned to make many a German Cookie. This one is Swiss and while I lived only 30 minutes from that border, I will admit I never saw these cookies. They, when cookied, look a bit more like a cigar and are not really sweet. I think I’ll not make these again, but they are one of the 1000 Foods so I can check it off the list… What do I prefer? some of my favorites are here on display:
