Lady M’s Mille Cakes

So I posted about our little food adventure to LA last Friday.  We did make one stop after visiting Felix for Pizza & pasta.  Our stop was in Irvine at Lady M’s.  This is a chain-they have locations in New York, Chicago and in Asia as well as a few in California. Likely other spots as well but those stick out in my memory.  The cake they have there is one of the 1000 Foods to Eat Before you Die (my list from Mimi Sheraton). 

The one on the list is the plain Mille Crepes and is layer upon layer of crepes with crème in the middle.  Not 1000 layers as the name implies, but quite a few.  We got a slice of that as well as a citron and a passionfruit.  The texture is very tiramisu-like, creamy but with enough substance to keep it from sinking into a mess.  My favorite-the passion fruit for sure.  The best part? Hanging out with my little Elena.
