Michelin Stars in Singapore: Soya Chicken Rice & Gelato

Singapore has 39 Michelin Stars and 50 bib gourmand restaurants.  Today we went to two with one star each. The first is Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle which is the home of the cheapest Michelin-star meal.  This eatery is located in Chinatown which was our scenic destination for the day.  We spent $3.80 Singapore $ which is about $2.75 US.  Hawker Chan turns out some pretty darn good chicken.  Chicken rice is rice, chicken and then you garnish the dish with thick black soy sauce, chili and ginger.  The line was long but we were in and out fairly quickly. Pouncing to get a table ended up being a challenge but we were able to get one in time to eat the food.  We then headed to East Coast Road towards the airport to eat botanical-inspired gelato at Birds of Paradise Gelato. This place also has one Michelin Star. The cones are thyme infused waffle cones which are made as you place your order.  I had white chrysanthemum and strawberry- basil.  Elena ate Ginger-Lemongrass and Mint-Cacao.  Ivan, tired of the lines from our Soya Sauce place, went around the corner and had a beer…
