Sorrel or Hibiscus Flower Cocktails for Christmas

Dried Hibiscus Flower

One of the 1000 Foods to Eat Before you Die is actually a Christmas drink from Jamaica.  Called Sorrel, it is made from dried hibiscus flowers. These little flowers have a very unique shape when dried and after boiling, they swell to look like small squid. The flowers are boiled along with spices, allowed to steep and then added to champagne or to red wine and rum.  Merry Christmas to us all.
