Another Easter Bread: Pashka while in SLC (and pictures of Elena at Easter when WEE)

Pashka

So I am frightfully behind in postings.  So much food and so little time… This has, unfortunately (the issue so much food not the issue of so little time), prompted me to GO BACK ON A DIET so many of my carb and sugar postings are just fond memories… not to be revisited for many, many months.   I have already posted on Kulich which was an Easter Bread from Poland we obtained for Ivan’s birthday and Easter this year and Kulich ended up being really more of a raisin bread. I promptly made into French toast and it was amazing. I spent Mother’s day in Salt Lake with Shelley and her family and as we were just a week past Orthodox Easter, I ordered a Pashka to take to her.

Sliced…

Pashka is not frosted like its cousin Kulich but it has a really nice woven pattern on top.  It is, still a raisin bread and not so much a cake but still good. I left the remainders behind and I can only hope they found their way into French toast…  The good news about posting things about Easter (even if posted in June) is I can put in old Easter photos of little Elena and I LOVE those….
