Elena & Adam in New York: November 2018

Mimi has macaroons on her list of 1000 things to eat before you die.  I do have to agree with Mimi that these are amazing little treats…  I know that I ate my first Laduree macaroon with Elena and Tara when we went to Paris together in April of 2010.  We went with my Girl Scout Troop and leaders in June of 2013 when we visited London and Paris. I think we convinced the entire troop that $3.00 a macaroon is a small price to pay for heaven.   I have eaten my share in Vancouver and New York.

Most recently, when Adam, Elena and I visited New York to see the Band’s Visit, we hauled ourselves up to the Laduree.  I do know that not only are the macaroons delightful, but the experience of ordering and the little, tiny boxes help make up the experience.  And here I am in the land of amazing food in Singapore and we trek to Orchard Road to find Laduree.  We searched and we searched to find the little treats to take away our cravings but Laduree recently shut down their Singaporean store.  AHHHHH.  My favorite flavor?  Raspberry.  I know I doubt you, Mimi, sometimes with your recommendations that include eating cow brains, but in the macaroon department, we agree.
