I was asked to present at the Canadian Academy of Audiology which was held in Niagara Falls last October.  It is true that I LOVED my view of the falls from my room and posted at least once a day on Facebook a picture of the amazing falls.  ( I do get that Niagara Falls does not necessarily have much to do with a food blog, but there you have it).  I also, at one of the lunches was reminded about Montreal smoked meat.  Wikipedia says “Montreal-style smoked meat, Montreal smoked meat or simply smoked meat in Montreal, is a type of kosher-style deli meat product made by salting and curing beef brisket with spices. The brisket is allowed to absorb the flavours over a week, and is then hot smoked to cook through, and finally steamed to completion”.  I think from that description you get the idea that this is a corn-beef type meat. That being said, it is so delicious that I usually just pull the meat from the sandwich and not waste time on the bread.  As I looked again at the photo of this, I realized that it doesn’t look all that special.  I only can say that the meat is tender, highly seasoned and worth the trip to Toronto.

And it is one of the 1000 Foods to Eat Before you Die.

And you can order it on Amazon.

And Starkey or ex-Starkey staff reading this blog. I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH! It was wonderful seeing you all in Niagara.
